Work Space

Hey all!

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only 5 days away. Oh...how the list of to dos is growing by the minute. The orders are pouring in for Christmas orders and Emma's is going to be at two events in the River Valley the first weekend in December as well as an event put on my good Friend Tova Millet, owner of Cut Loose Hair Salon in Norway.

So here is the schedule:
  • Vendor Fair December 3rd 5-8pm @Black Mountain of Maine, Rumford
  • Christmas in the Valley Fair December 4th 9-2 @Mountain Valley High School, Rumford
  • Cuttin' Loose for the Holidays 9-2 December 4th @Tuscany Hall, South Paris

Shops that you can find Emma's Pretties in:
  • Cut Loose 8 Fair Street, Norway
  • The Calico Patch 174 Broadway, Farmington
  • Divine Treasures 625 Bridgton Road, Westbrook

It doesn't seem like things are more than me having fun at this until I write it all down like it is above! Holy cow...what an accomplishment in one year's time! Thank you to all of my friends and family for supporting me through this journey. Happy Holidays to all of you!
So this could be my only post until after the holidays are over...I'll be locked up in my room until it's over, but I'm thinking that I will enjoy every last moment of it.

Take care my friends...may Santa grant all your wishes.
Sandy

Give credit where credit is due!

I have to give a shout out to my favorite vendors...Auntie's Beads in Texas!

Kelly McCoy is great to bounce ideas off and when beaders have thoughts, ideas and suggestions they are very open and accommodating...they can be found at http://www.auntiesbeads.com/

I recently put an entry in a contest that was in motion...what an experience that was and despite the glitch with the voting..Emma's Pretties came in 3rd! It was so much fun and look forward to the next one that they have.

Here is a pic of what 3rd place looks like...

Thank you to all of Emma's fans that voted...next time we'll get 'em!

Just Checking in...again...

Holy cow it's November and I haven't created a post since April. What have I been up to?

Well the list is pretty long...
  • I am a part of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension's Maine Harvest for Hunger, as the agency I work for is a partner, and that took a huge portion of my summer.
  • My husband and I got married in August and for all that have planned a wedding you know that it involves tons of details that need to be coordinated. Thank you to my very supportive family and friends...you rock!
  • I have been very busy with Emma's Pretties as of late...everyone is gearing up for the holidays. I participated in a local school craft fair Halloween weekend with great success!
  • There was a super home show last weekend at the home of one of my favorite hostesses! Thank you Kristen and Tina Simoneau
  • I am now gearing up for 3 events at the end of the month...Jam Night at Black Mountain of Maine from 5-8 December 3rd...Christmas in the Valley Craft Fair at Mountain Valley High School from 9-2 December 4th...Cuttin' Loose for the Holidays at Tuscany Hall 9-2 December 4th
  • I finished my first ever newsletter complete with a great deal for all website purchases and great incentives for December hostesses! Call to book one today! 357.7663

Stay tuned for future posts with Emma's Pretties newsletter as well as the latest pictures of Pretties.

Back In Action

I have finally had a moment to gather a thought...this weekend will be a beading frenzy...I have a lot to get ready for. Miss Amanda is hosting a home show on May 2nd and it looks like another great gathering of 20 or so ladies.

I was hoping to get into the Mother's Day craft fair at the Hope Association on the 8th, but it looks like I waited too long to get a registration form...the tables are sold out. I am on the waiting list so maybe someone will have to cancel and I'll be in...hoping I can "will" it to happen.

I received my hand-me-down lighting recently and with the rearrange of the studio I hope to be able to get some new listings on the website with a few to land here and on Facebook. I'll be headed out for one dueling day next week as Annelise & I are venturing out for a day of bead shopping and a Mommy ~ Daughter photo shoot. I'm looking for those perfect shots to include my peanut...all grown up...and the ever elusive head shot for my website...I dread having my picture taken.

So tah-tah for now...the next time I'm back...I hope to have lots of great pictures of all sorts of Emma's Pretties.

See you soon~

Update

Holy updates!

Since I was here last (which feels like a dog's age ago)...I've sold Pretties right off my body while on a date with my Honey, donated to Team Mad Gab's chinese auction-March 26th, donated to the Oxford Hills Chamber Beach Party-March 27th, donated to the Holy Savior chinese auction-April 8th & the MPBN Channel 10 Great TV Auction. The Channel 10 gig was a possibilty to be entered in an art auction prior to the TV event. I didn't get into that one, but oh well...one person's idea of handmade "art" and anothers can vary. Disappointed, but definitley not heart broken...there's always next year! Here's the link to see the Pretties...
http://auction.mpbn.net/Bidding.taf_function=detail&Auction_uid1=106231

In addition to all of that the sales at Cut Loose in Norway have been quite steady. Lots of interest...stop by and check it...Tova is always eager to make a sale!

Not sure which one, but either Tova or Kristen will be sporting this vintage inspired piece that I just love...it is made with the same style as Emma's Pretties profile pic...love the vintage feel...I hope you will too!

I am very much looking forward to my upcoming home shows...Mrs. Laurieann Milligan and Ms. Amanda Jones are currently booked for April & May. I feel very grateful to have done the little bit of networking that I have to get these gigs. I am looking forward to showing my new ideas as well as recreating some that are big hits.

I'll be sending out my second package to Portugal in the morning to a gem of a customer. She gave me a random picture of something she liked (that was very highend I might add) and I came up with 6 or so "almosts" and she fell in love with the pink sponge coral and the rest is history. I've included a pic of her creations and glad to say she's a repeat customer.

Home Shows

~HOLY COW~

I have to start by thanking all of those that attended Tina Simoneau's home show on Sunday March 7th...what a success! There were over 20 wonderful ladies that attended Sundays festivities and there was a buzz in the room. Miss Maureen said "I wondered if I was going to be late and I as I approached the door there was this hum of women's voices that told me...it didn't matter."~Oh what a feelin'...I"m not sure if my feet have touched the ground yet! I feel as though I've been more productive this week at my day job because of it all...

I LOVE this job though...I always knew that I had a creative heart and I always feel good when I am creating...I am forever grateful to Tina...you have been the light on the horizon for this household in so many ways...We thank you!

Today I dropped off my pieces to the MPBN Channel 10 Auction...with much apprehension, but that was all set aside as soon as Janet Ramey, from Channel 10, saw what I had created...phew! crisis averted~they will be available for viewing around March 15th at the link I have posted. If they do not make it into the juried "art" auction they will be available for online bidding starting on April 1st...I think...not a lot of details are clear coming out of the MPBN camp...I'll keep you posted!

Thanks for checking in! I've added a pic of the gems that went today!

Peace out...see you soon!

Stayed tuned for purple glass flower and olivine glass beads...vintage style!

Success

Hooray!

Emma's Pretties hosted its first home show which actually ended up just being a ghost party, but who's keeping track. I was given the task of putting a "catalog" together over the weekend and making it look as professional as possible. Thankfully I had been taking pictures of most of my things as I went a long so the task could have been much more daunting than it turned out to be...Thank goodness for Wal*Mart...never thought I would say that out loud. I thank you to all that ordered...it was a success!

In brainstorming news, I created a new piece from the crocheted wire that everyone seems to like (2 were sold to the home show crew-wohoo!). I love this one and it gives the crocheted work a different look. Stay tuned for pics and updates. I believe this is the design that I will be donating to the MPBN auction in April. I also created this gorgeous vintage style necklace pictured above. WOW! It makes me think of the days of Jackie O'...and how her jewelry was a statement and not an accessory.

In the world of all things cold!...holy cow it has been cold & windy here in Maine and we've had a bit of a drought in the snow department. I can see grass on my lawn and my sister in law is afraid her crocuses are going to get confused. I know I won't...it seems like camping is months away! We look forward to the first trip of the season...it's always the best!
